Say Hello to Ella Hattendorf

Ella is our dedicated marketing associate who develops and executes social media strategies tailored to each client’s unique voice and goals, creating thoughtful, engaging content that helps brands show up with clarity, personality, and purpose.

1. Give me a brief explanation of your role and the work you do at The Dove Agency.

I'm a Marketing Associate at The Dove Agency, where I help interior designers build a social media presence that reflects the quality of their work. Designers are busy creating, so I handle the strategy, content planning, and posting, all through IDnest, so their online presence stays polished and on brand without taking up too much of their time.

2. What motivates you when things get busy or challenging?

Honestly, I like when my days are full! It means I get to work on different things for different clients, and I genuinely enjoy the variety in what I do for them. It also helps that everyone at Dove is so supportive; I could call anyone on my team, and they'd drop what they're doing to help me out, so even the busy days never feel too overwhelming.

I'm also motivated by the challenge itself. When I push through something difficult and get it done, it makes me feel capable and proud of what I accomplished!

3.  What’s a professional skill you’ve developed that surprised you?

For me, it's multitasking. Every client I work with is doing something different, so at any given time I'm juggling a lot of moving pieces at once. I've always been an organized person, but learning to actually work on multiple things simultaneously used to be really challenging for me. Now I've developed my own system for it, and it's a skill I'm genuinely proud of how much it's grown.

4.  What makes you proud to work at The Dove Agency?

A few things. First, the quality of work we produce, and the fact that we're a successful, all-women company is something I'm genuinely proud to be part of. The people I work with are incredible: hardworking, smart, and endlessly helpful. In the almost year and a half I've been here, I've learned so much just from being around them.

I also love that we're so focused on interior design specifically. It's an industry I've grown a real passion for since starting here, and that makes the work feel even more meaningful, and I wake up every day excited to do my job!

5.  What’s your favorite way to unwind after a busy week?

I love spending time outside; whether that's going for a walk, hanging out on a patio with friends, or playing with my roommate's dog. Every week, I also look forward to Sunday supper at my parents' house with family, friends, cousins, and my grandma. It's the perfect way to close out the weekend!

6. If you could live anywhere in the world for a year, where would it be and why?

I honestly don't see myself moving outside of Texas ever, but if I had to pick somewhere for a year, I'd choose a ranch in California near the beach. I've ridden horses my whole life, and I'm a huge animal lover, so spending my days outside riding horses and taking care of animals sounds like a dream — plus I love the beach, and the weather out there is unbeatable.

7. What’s one thing on your bucket list you haven’t checked off yet?

One thing on my bucket list I haven't checked off yet is doing a horseback safari in Africa — where you get to run alongside zebras, giraffes, and gazelles while seeing all kinds of incredible wildlife. It sounds like the coolest experience, and it's something I'd love to do someday!
